Seros
Water in sculpted form.
Seros is a unique collaboration between Victoria + Albert and British sculptor, Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson. Inspired by Sophie's sculptures, the collection embodies the energy and movement of water through organic, fluid forms. Each piece in the collection is extraordinary and beautiful in itself.
Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson and the origin of Seros.
Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson is a British artist working in Barcelona. Her creative work is exhibited all over the world, in galleries and public spaces. She says that her best work comes from ‘the feeling of absolute calm when I’m creating in my studio - whether I’m drawing or carving, I am not thinking about anything and feel completely at peace and happy’. This sense of tranquillity is reflected in the Seros designs, making it the perfect collection for a spa or wellness bathroom.
"I live by the sea, and took photos of how the sea rests against the sand; how the wind affects and sculpts the sand. It leaves these beautiful, calm, flowing indents. The feeling of the movement and the natural marks that are left, are what I tried to capture in this collection."
The Bath
The Seros freestanding bath is a beautiful centrepiece for the bathroom, with sculptured line work flowing around the tub. Ergonomically designed, the sweeping chamfered rim of the bath creates a cradle for the bather, gently supporting the neck. The internal shape is moulded for comfort, encouraging a longer soak. Available in two sizes; Seros 1650 and Seros 1800.
The Basin
The Seros 55 vessel basin is designed for mounting on a countertop or vanity unit, and echoes the sculptured shape of the Seros bath. Beautiful when complementing the Seros bath, but equally striking when used alone.
The Podium Basin
Seros 49 is Victoria + Albert's first podium basin. Sculptural and emotive, it appears to have grown from the ground with its twisting, elemental shape. The bowl features a hidden free-flow drain, to maintain the purity of the shape.
